As summer winds down here in Phoenix, swimming pool maintenance becomes easier for homeowners. Here are some pool maintenance tips to follow as the days get cooler and the nights get longer.
During the summer months, pools use a lot more chemicals due to evaporation and heavy use. With lower temperatures, you’ll be able to use fewer chemicals, but you should still check the pool chemistry once per week.
Although we don’t have many trees with leaves, there are still some in Arizona, so don’t skimp on skimming your pool during the fall months. Get those leaves out of there pronto!
Reduce Pump and Filter Time
With fewer things falling into the pool, you can run your pump and filter less than during the summer months. Call us and we will be happy to take a look and let you know how much you can cut back on pump and filter time. But don’t get comfortable. Our fall and winter storms can still dump plenty of bad stuff into your swimming pool, so don’t forget to reset the timer for a while after a storm.
If you shut your pool down for the winter months, then be sure the cover is secure and safely fastened in place.
