Most people have some type of automatic pool cleaning system that vacuums the pool clean of dirt and debris. However, there are some times when manual vacuuming can be useful — when dirt or algae builds up on bottom of the pool or after a storm when lots of debris has fallen to the bottom of the pool. The purpose of a manual vacuum job is to remove the algae, dirt or debris before it can cloud the water or feed more algae growth.
A manual vacuum head is attached to a hose. Then the head is run across the bottom of the pool, just like vacuuming your house. Because the vacuum is attached and filtered through your filters, they need to be cleaned out immediately. Then the pump and filters must be backwashed to get all the debris out.
Of course, most people don’t have a manual vacuum head, but Pool People offers this service or sells the equipment you might need. Our store is located at 5830 W. Thunderbird Rd., Suite B-6, Glendale, AZ
